Eberhard Lucke

A well-established and recognized expert in the oil refining and gas processing industries with over 25 years of experience as a consultant, engineer and manager, Eberhard Lucke started his career with Veba Oel AG as a technology engineer, where he developed optimization projects for the heavy oil upgrading area in the Horst Refinery.

Following appointments as Operations Engineer and Deputy Area Manager in the Horst Refinery, Eberhard was assigned to the heavy oil upgrader project Operadora Cerro Negro in Venezuela. Working as Start-up Advisor and Transition Coordinator for one of the majority owners, ExxonMobil, Eberhard supported the development of Standard Operating Procedures, coordinated operator training prior to start-up, and actively supported commissioning, start-up and ramp-up of the facility.

Eberhard then moved to Houston, Texas and worked as consultant and process expert for KBC Advanced Technologies, before joining CB&I Lummus as Process Engineering Manager in their refining technology licensing team. After leaving CB&I, Eberhard held several positions as Director and Department Manager in the EPC industry, where he led studies and design work in the area of oil refining and petrochemicals, as well as gas monetization, including GTL, CTL and LNG.

Eberhard joined NiQuan Energy Group 2017 as the Vice President of Process Engineering and Technology. In this role, he is responsible for the development, assessment and implementation of new technologies, conceptual designs and engineering strategies for the GTL process as applied in all existing and future NiQuan facilities.

Eberhard is actively involved in several professional associations, such as AFPM, AIChE, DECHEMA and GPA, and he is the author of over 25 technical papers and presentations as well as being a two-time panelist for the AFPM Operations & Process Technology Summit (former Q&A Conference). He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Professional Masters Program at Rice University in Houston, Texas.

Eberhard holds a M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Essen in Germany.
